Cérélia's newly established Frozen Breakfast Business Unit – US Waffle - is driving an ambitious growth strategy, backed by two manufacturing facilities, Liberty, SC, and Hazelwood, MO. To effectively support the rapid scaling of operations at our state-of-the-art Hazelwood facility, US Waffle is seeking a dynamic and skilled FSQA Supervisor to join our team in Hazelwood, MO.

This role is responsible for owning food safety and quality execution on the floor during assigned shifts. The FSQA Supervisor ensures all products meet internal and customer specifications while maintaining strict adherence to food safety standards, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.  The supervisor directs and supports the QA team, verifies critical process controls, ensures consistent and compliant execution on the production floor, and confirms sanitation activities meet SSOPs, EMP requirements, and customer standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong floor presence, real-time decision making, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own shift-level food safety and quality performance, ensuring compliance with all GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to FSQA technicians, ensuring proper coverage and execution across all lines
  • Perform and oversee pre-operational inspections, ensuring equipment and environment are ready for production
  • Ensure all products meet defined specifications, including weight, appearance, labeling, and packaging requirements
  • Actively monitor production and intervene in real time to address quality or food safety concerns
  • Lead and support investigations related to:
    • Product holds
    • Deviations
    • Customer complaints
  • Partner with Production to drive adherence to standard work and minimize variability
  • Support and enforce sanitation standards, working closely with the Sanitation team to ensure effective cleaning and EMP execution
  • With the support of the FSQA Director, oversee Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), including:
    • Sample collection
    • Trend analysis
    • Corrective actions
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready
  • Support internal and external audits (SQF, customer, regulatory)
  • Maintain and enforce traceability and lot control processes
  • Drive continuous improvement in food safety and quality systems
  • Train and develop FSQA technicians and cross-functional teams on food safety and quality expectations
  • Ensure proper calibration and verification of quality-related equipment (scales, metal detectors, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure equipment is operating within validated parameters
  • Perform other duties as assigned or of a similar nature or level
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required (Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred)
  • 3–7 years of experience in food manufacturing, with direct FSQA or quality leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • GMPs
    • HACCP
    • SQF or other GFSI standards
    • Food safety regulations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive accountability on the production floor
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in real time
  • Experience managing product holds, deviations, and corrective actions
  • Experience with Environmental Monitoring Programs (EMP)
  • Experience supporting audits and maintaining audit readiness
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with ERP systems (Plex experience a plus)
  • High sense of urgency, attention to detail, and accountability

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • Exempt position 40 hours per week, and it may require working additional hours depending on business need requirements.
